From the very beginning, CAFÉ LEOPOLD has stood for diversity, variety, sustainability and the preservation of the Austrian art and culture scene. We attach great importance to diversity when selecting our suppliers and employees. Origin, religion or gender do not play a role and fair communication based on equality is our top priority.

Together with our suppliers, we create a diverse range of food and drinks, which of course includes regional products. From regional farmers to certified organic beverages, we cover a broad spectrum of food and drink offerings.

In cooperation with the Leopold Museum and the Museumsquartier, we contribute to the Austrian art and culture scene as well as to the sustainable greening of the outdoor areas. The interior design of CAFÉ LEOPOLD is adapted to the design of the Leopold Museum and sustainable plants and trees are used for the greening of the water bar in the courtyard.

Environment and energy

An energy-efficient supply is important to us. Only LED lamps are used in our establishment and each area in the restaurant can be controlled individually. In order to maintain this standard, we are in constant contact with our suppliers regarding new purchases of electrical appliances and technology.
In addition, all our sanitary facilities are equipped with hand dryers and water sensors to reduce water consumption.

Avoiding waste

In order to minimize and avoid waste, we use reusable containers and provide take-away paper boxes for our guests.
Furthermore, our guests can choose between the side dishes we offer.
At our catering events, the meals are calculated exactly according to the number of people, so that we can also contribute to avoiding waste.

We have set ourselves the following goals to promote and improve sustainability:
